February 06, 2017 Like many wineries in the region, they produce sweet fruit wines such as Muscadine, Blackberry, Raspberry and Peach, but also bottle a large variety of drier reds, whites, and blush wines. Oenophiles will be pleased to find that over 20 of the Winery’s labels are award-winners, and all are available for tasting during their free tours. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and if you’re hungry they make a mean brick-oven-fired pizza. You’ll definitely want to take home a few bottles from the on-site gift shop. The Smoky Mountain Winery is open year-round, except for Christmas Day. For reservations and details, call (865) 436-7551, or toll free at 888-SMKWINE.
